I want to like the Celica, I really do. But it just hit every branch on the ugly tree when it fell out.
The MR Spyder isn’t much better. Then again, I always thought the 2nd gen was one of the best looking cars ever made, so it had a lot to live up to.

Hey now, I see no 2ZZ-FE
I believe that’s powered by a 2ZZ-GE.
G is sporty, while F is fuel economy.
That’s why for instance a 5th gen Celica had a 5sfe, while a Celica all-trac of that generation had a 3sgte.
5-version of engine
S- engine family
F- fuel economy
E- I think this means fuel injected but i’m not sure.
vs
3- actually an earlier version of this engine than the 5sfe
S- its the same engine family as the 5sfe
G- sporty!
T- Turbocharged
E- again dunno, but I think fuel injected.

... Oops

E = Electronic fuel injection (multi point)
G = Wide valve angle good for higher revs
F = narrow valve angle good for fuel economy and low revs
A couple other fun Toyota suffixes include Z for supercharged, S for direct injection

Nice!! I forgot about that Z! Man, i gotta get a 4AGZE powered MR2 someday.

My current wallpaper at work. It’s way cleaner than the one in my car :(

What could have been? You mean oil starvation under high gs at 8200 RPM?
![]() 03/24/2017 at 16:25 |

High gs.... Hey look, I love the MK3 MR2 but it ain’t an Elise.

I’ve seen 1ZZ-FEs oil starve during autocross. Not fun.
![]() 03/24/2017 at 16:28 |

Well if you’re gonna starve might as well starve with an extra 50 HP.
![]() 03/24/2017 at 16:51 |

Lol, i’m pretty sure that one is way cleaner than any one in any car right now.

I don’t want to run the risk of starving at 6000 RPM, let alone 8000.
